Michal Kowalik

Assistant Vice President at Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Michal Kowalik is an accomplished financial economist and academic with extensive experience in banking, corporate finance, and household finance. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President and Senior Financial Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston since October 2014, Michal co-leads DFAST teams focused on modeling losses in wholesale and retail portfolios. In addition, Michal holds teaching positions as an Instructor at Harvard University and Adjunct Professor at Boston College. Michal's editorial role as Associate Editor for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking complements a robust academic background that includes a visiting researcher position at MIT Sloan School of Management and a prior economist role at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Michal's educational qualifications include a PhD and Diploma in Economics from the University of Mannheim, along with a Master in Economics from the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
