Robert Cashman

Robert Cashman has been president and CEO of Metro Credit Union, the largest state charted credit union in Massachusetts, since 1998. After joining Metro in 1983, he led multiple departments within the credit union, including marketing and lending, before becoming executive vice president in 1995 and chief executive officer in 1998. During his tenure as CEO, Metro has grown from $316 million to over $2.5 billion. During his career, Robert has served on various state credit union trade association boards. He is currently a board member of the Cooperative Credit Union Association and was previously on the Massachusetts Credit Union League Board. Also active at the national level, Robert is currently treasurer and board member of the National Credit Union Foundation Board, and a former Board Member of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Board. He is also a member of the New England Automated Clearinghouse Association’s Board (NEACH), where he works with other financial services industry leaders focusing on the payment system landscape. Robert graduated from the school of management at Boston University.
