Darren Sorrels has a diverse work experience starting in 2008 as an Assistant Network Engineer for Oral Roberts University, where they managed the network infrastructure and installed wireless network devices. In 2011, they worked as a Visual Effects Artist for the university, designing opening sequences for presentations and creating graphics for live television production events. From 2012 to 2014, they transitioned to Benefitfocus as an Application Analyst, learning database management and creating an internal application to improve department efficiency. In 2012, they also started their freelance graphic design business, where they implemented successful branding projects, managed tight deadlines, and honed skills in user-interface design and web development technologies. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a UX Designer for Valorem, and from 2018 to 2019, they joined American Century Investments as a Digital Experience Designer. Darren'smost recent role, starting from 2019, is with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where they have progressed from a Senior UX Designer to a Lead/Expert Product Designer.
Darren Sorrels completed their Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from Oral Roberts University. Darren attended the university from 2008 to 2013. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications. In October 2019, they became a Certified SAFe® 4 Practitioner from Scaled Agile, Inc. In April 2018, they obtained the certification "Scrum: The Basics" from LinkedIn. Darren also completed the certification "UX Design: 4 Ideation" from LinkedIn in March 2018.
