Jason Michael

Distinguished Engineer at Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis

Jason Michael has extensive work experience in the field of application development and software engineering. Jason started their career at Unisys as a Java Developer in 1999 and worked there until 2004. From 2004 to 2009, they worked for Paisley Consulting as a Senior Software Engineer, where they implemented solutions for enterprise application software.

In 2009, Jason joined Thomson Reuters as a Lead Software Engineer and later took on the role of Associate Architect. During their time there, they designed, implemented, and maintained enterprise application software, while also operating as a lead on a Scrum team following an Agile methodology.

In 2014, Jason moved to brightpeak financial as an Application Development Lead. In this role, they led a development team responsible for all application development and maintenance for the financial services company. Jason'sresponsibilities included requirements analysis, design, technical leadership, Agile methodology leadership, and implementation contribution. Jason also managed a team of six full-time employees and varying contractors.

In 2019, Jason joined Thrivent as an Application Development Lead. Jason leads a team of 7-8 developers and is responsible for delivering enterprise software solutions to the business and consumers. Jason'sroles at Thrivent include hands-on individual contribution, management of direct reports, and being a technical lead in a full stack role.

Currently, Jason is working at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as a Principal Engineer since 2019, although no end date is provided.

Jason Michael completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems at Minnesota State University, Mankato from 1995 to 1999.
