Becky Bareford is the first vice president and chief operating officer of the Richmond Fed.
In this role, Bareford works with the Bank’s president and management committee in setting strategic vision and business objectives for the District, ensuring financial and operational performance, as well as supporting the System’s operational strategy. She oversees the Bank’s financial services, as well as a workforce of approximately 1,400 employees in Richmond, Charlotte, Baltimore and across the System.
Bareford joined the Richmond Fed in 1998, serving in various roles in the accounting and procurement functions. In 2007, she was named assistant vice president for Corporate Accounting, with responsibility for the Bank’s financial management services, including cost accounting, budgeting and procurement. She was promoted to vice president of Human Resources with primary responsibility for the Federal Reserve’s payroll services in 2012, and named senior vice president of administrative services in 2014, with responsibility for human resources, financial management services, and the Federal Reserve System’s procurement and payroll operations. In 2018, she was appointed as the first vice president and chief operating officer.
Bareford serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Richmond.
Bareford earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech.
