Marina Azzimonti is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as a Director, Senior Economist, and Research Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since January 2023, Azzimonti is also an Editorial Board Member for the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics. Azzimonti held various positions at Stony Brook University from August 2014 to December 2022, including Endowed Professor and Interim Department Chair, and served as Secretary for the Society for Economic Dynamics from July 2015 to August 2023. Previous roles include Visiting Professor at NYU Stern School of Business and Economic Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Azzimonti obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester and a BS in Economics from Universidad de 'San Andrés'.
