Brian Berggren

Brian Berggren currently serves as the Acting Associate Director for the Division of Enforcement at the Federal Trade Commission, a position held since December 2023. Prior roles at the FTC include Chief of Staff and Attorney Advisor focused on Consumer Protection under Commissioner Melissa Holyoak, as well as Attorney in the Division of Financial Practices. Brian's experience also includes serving as Corporate Counsel for Devices (Privacy) at Amazon, where responsibilities involved providing legal counsel on privacy-related issues and leading compliance initiatives. Prior to Amazon, Brian practiced law at Rutan & Tucker, LLP and Hueston Hennigan LLP, where significant achievements included resolving litigation involving data licenses and obtaining judgments in favor of clients. Brian began legal training at Irell & Manella LLP, representing high-profile financial services clients in various litigations. Educational credentials include a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Communication from the University of Southern California.
