Monique Fortenberry

Monique Fortenberry is an accomplished legal and operations professional with extensive experience in public service and workforce inclusivity. Currently serving as the Deputy Executive Director at the Federal Trade Commission since December 2013, Fortenberry has also held significant roles, including Director of the Office of Workplace Inclusivity and Opportunity. Notable achievements include receiving the FTC Chair's Award for exemplary leadership and being a nominee for the Presidential Rank Award. Previously, Fortenberry was the Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Small Business Administration, managing a 150-person office and providing legal support across various policy areas. Other past positions include Associate at Jackson Lewis LLP and Judicial Clerk at the District of Columbia Superior Court. Fortenberry holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University.
