Alva Johnson

Alva Johnson is an experienced leader in tribal administration and government affairs, currently serving as the Executive Director of Tribal Administration for the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria since January 2024. Previously, Alva was the Director of the California State Lottery, where significant contributions led to over $2 billion raised for public education in fiscal year 2022-2023. Alva also held key positions with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, focusing on legislative strategies and intergovernmental relations. Career highlights include serving as Chief Consultant for the California State Assembly Governmental Organization Committee and working in various capacities within the California State Assembly on education legislation. Alva holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from California State University - East Bay.
