Stacy Ertz

Stacy Ertz is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in insurance coverage and litigation defense. Currently serving as Staff Counsel at Federated Insurance since September 2018, Stacy effectively manages outside counsel, collaborates with internal teams to address company risk, and leads complex litigation strategies. Prior experience includes roles as Coverage Counsel and Litigation Attorney at Borgelt Powell, where Stacy focused on complex insurance coverage litigation, and Litigation Defense Counsel and Coverage Counsel Litigation Chair at Murnane Brandt, where responsibilities included leading the insurance coverage practice group and mentoring. Early in her career, Stacy developed a collaborative approach at Greene Espel, PLLP, while working on a complex product-liability case. Stacy earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy Political Science Ethics from St. Cloud State University.
