Sam Michael

Sam Michael is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the motorsport and engineering industries. Currently serving as Exec Chair, Co-Founder, and Board Director at Ox Mountain since April 2015, Sam focuses on maintenance automation software and collaborates with experts in machine learning and engineering. As President of the Safety Commission for the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile since September 2017, strategic planning and global motorsports safety governance are prioritized. Sam has also held advisory and board positions at organizations such as the Australian Institute for Motor Sport Safety and Triple Eight Race Engineering, and has provided academic leadership as a Senior Lecturer at The University of Western Australia. Previous roles include Sporting Director at McLaren Racing, Technical Director and Chief Operations Engineer at Williams Racing, and Race Engineer at Jordan Grand Prix. Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from UNSW and has a solid foundation in R&D, racing operations, and safety enhancement initiatives.
