Nazish Jeffery

Nazish Jeffery, Ph.D., currently serves as the Bioeconomy Policy Manager at the Federation of American Scientists since January 2023. Previously, Nazish held the position of Scientist I/Manager at bluebird bio, focusing on Process Development & Innovation from January 2022 to January 2023. Academic experience includes completing a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where research centered on H2A under the mentorship of Dr. Michael Bulger. Nazish's leadership roles include presidency of a graduate student science policy club, where initiatives involved organizing events for professional development and managing fundraising efforts. Additionally, a science policy internship at the American Institute of Biological Sciences involved drafting white papers and policy press releases. Nazish also worked as a Laboratory Technician III, conducting research on somatic splicing factors and collaborating within a team of graduate students and technicians. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
