Marco Brunelli has been the FIGC General Manager since 18 February 2019.
Born in Milan on 2 September 1963, with a degree in Economics, he previously held numerous top positions in the Serie A League, of which he was CEO from 2018 to 2019, General Manager from 2010 to 2019, and Secretary General of the then Lega Nazionale Professionisti from 2004 to 2010, after having directed the Research Department from 1998 to 2004 and having been Head of the Licensing System (2003).
Internationally, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of European Football Leagues from 2004 to 2019, of the World Leagues Forum from 2016 to 2019, of the UEFA Club Licensing Committee from 2007 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2019, of FIFA Committee for Club Football from 2014 to 2015, of the UEFA Professional Football Committee from 2004 to 2007, of the Group of Experts of the Council of Europe for the study of the economic impact of sport from 1989 to 1994.
He is also Director of the “International Master in Strategic Management of Organizations, Events and Sports Facilities” at the universities of Parma and San Marino.
In the past, he was a senior economist with many years of experience in research, training and consultancy activities in the fields of sports management and marketing at Nomisma, an economic studies company (from 1988 to 1998) and author of numerous articles and publications on management and the economy of sports .
