Gabriel Broner is an experienced technology executive with a strong background in cloud computing, high-performance computing, and innovation. Gabriel is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Feeder, where they hold a leadership position. Prior to that, they founded Gabriel Broner Consulting, a consultancy where they advised organizations in the US, Europe, and Latin America on cloud, high-performance computing, and technical innovation.
Before starting their consultancy, Gabriel held various executive roles at reputable companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Rescale, SGI, Ericsson, Microsoft, and Cray Research. At Amazon, they served as the Director of Engineering for Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), where they played a pivotal role in improving performance, reducing costs, increasing stability, and expanding regional presence. During their tenure, Gabriel achieved a significant 4x performance improvement for key workloads, introduced cost-effective solutions, expanded EFS availability, and supported modern applications.
At Rescale, Gabriel was the Vice President and General Manager of High-Performance Computing, responsible for delivering enterprise big compute and HPC in the cloud. As Vice President and General Manager at SGI, they led the company's HPC product division, focusing on developing strategic solutions for customers in government, manufacturing, earth sciences, and life sciences.
Prior to that, Gabriel served as the Head of Innovation at Ericsson, leading a team that created Ericsson Innova, an initiative enabling individuals worldwide to submit and receive funding for innovative ideas. Gabriel successfully oversaw the funding and development of over 450 ideas, with five advancing into products.
Gabriel's experience also includes their tenure as the General Manager of Storage Solutions Division at Microsoft, where they developed storage strategies and oversaw the creation of storage products for Windows Vista and Windows Server.
Before Microsoft, Gabriel held several roles at Silicon Graphics, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Software and Storage business, where they established the SGI storage business, led efforts for Irix scalability and distribution, and introduced SGI systems with Linux.
Gabriel's career in the technology industry began at Cray Research, where they worked as an Operating Systems Architect. Gabriel designed and implemented operating systems for Cray Vector supercomputers and was responsible for managing the Unicos and Irix operating system kernel groups.
Throughout their career, Gabriel has demonstrated a strong track record of leading large teams, setting strategic direction, driving innovation, and navigating both startup and large company environments. Gabriel Broner's education history includes a Mini MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Gabriel also pursued PhD coursework in Computer Science at the University of Minnesota. Prior to that, Gabriel obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidad Simón Bolívar. Gabriel completed their undergraduate studies at the same university, earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
