Jessica E. Hager has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries and roles. Jessica E. started their career in 2007 at Central Texas Food Bank, where they worked as a Summer Community Events coordinator. In 2008, they joined Baylor Scott & White Health in a marketing role. Later that year, they worked as a Civic Engagement Specialist/AmeriCorps*VISTA at Southwestern University. In 2009, they served as the Coordinator of the Volunteer and Mentor Program at STARRY. Jessica E. also started their own consulting firm, Jessica Hager Consulting, in 2009, where they worked as a Consultant until 2013.
In 2010, Jessica joined The Care Communities as the Director of Outreach, and in 2011, they worked at Enlace Chicago in Violence Prevention. Their longest tenure was at Feeding America, where they held various positions from 2012 to 2023. Their roles at Feeding America included Coordinator of Nutrition, Manager of Health and Nutrition External Engagement, Director of Healthcare Partnerships & Nutrition, Senior Director of Strategic Capacity Development of Healthcare Partnerships & Nutrition, Interim Vice President of Health Systems Innovation, and currently, Senior Director of Strategic Planning. Throughout these positions, Jessica has developed expertise in strategic planning, healthcare partnerships, and nutrition.
Jessica E. Hager earned a B.A. cum laude in Communications, Anthropology, and Spanish from Southwestern University in 2008. In 2007, they also briefly studied Language, Culture, and Environmental Studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. Jessica E. later obtained an M.A. in Social Work Administration from the University of Chicago Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice in 2013.
