Steve Powell

Steve Powell has extensive work experience, starting in 2003. Steve worked as a Desktop Support Technician at BDML Connect Limited, providing technical support and managing automated processes. Steve then worked as a Software Engineer at BDML Connect Limited, where they developed web applications and acted as a technical liaison.

In 2007, Steve joined Capita Insurance Distribution as a Software Development Team Leader. Steve worked there for almost 10 years, recruiting, mentoring, and managing a team of web/software developers. Steve represented the team in projects for high-profile partners such as Lloyds TSB, Aviva, ASDA, Argos, American Express, John Lewis, and esure.

Steve then moved on to Stride Insurance Group in 2008, where they served as an eCommerce Development Manager. Steve designed and project managed the development of online quote and buy facilities for the company's insurance divisions. Steve also acted as a commercial and technical account manager for key partnerships with insurance aggregator websites.

In 2011, Steve joined Ultimate Pet Partners as an eCommerce Development Manager. Steve managed their eCommerce Development team and was responsible for maintaining back office systems, customer-facing applications, and external web services. Steve also handled planning, design, development, and testing of system development projects and managed technical relationships with external partners.

Steve's most recent position is with Feefo, where they have held various roles since 2014. Steve started as the Head of Implementation, overseeing the Technical Implementation team and coordinating between product and development teams. Steve then became the Head of Technical Delivery, leading a 30-strong agile product delivery function and overseeing business development outsource strategy. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Technology Officer at Feefo.

Steve Powell's education history begins in 1990 when they attended St Johns College in Southsea. Steve completed their A Levels / GCSE studies at this institution and continued their education at the University of Portsmouth from 2001 to 2004. During this time, they pursued a degree in Computer Science and obtained a BSc (Hons). In 2004, they furthered their education at the University of Portsmouth, completing an MSc in Internet Systems Development between 2004 and 2005. Recently, from 2019 to 2021, Steve attended TCC Limited, where they earned a certification as a Scrum Master.
