Hossam Haick

Hossam Haick has a diverse work experience spanning various fields and companies. Hossam has been associated with Technion - Israel Institute of Technology since 2006, where they have held roles such as Dean, Professor, and Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

In 2017, Haick co-founded Feelit Technologies, a company focused on providing monitoring solutions for chronic respiratory diseases. Hossam also co-founded NanoVation LTD in 2014, which aims to improve outcomes for patients with respiratory conditions.

Haick has been involved in several projects funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program. As Chairman of the A-Patch project, they contributed to the development of non-invasive wearable diagnostic patches. Hossam also chaired the VOGAS project, which aimed to develop a non-invasive gastric cancer screening tool.

In 2019, Haick served as the Chief Scientific Officer at NaNose Medical, a company that develops digital health schemes using breath tests for diagnosing various diseases and conditions.

Additionally, Haick has held roles as Co-Chairman at The European and Associated International Laboratories, Guest Professor at Ningbo University, and Consultant at Bio-Rad Laboratories.

One of Haick's notable projects was the SNIFFPHONE, where they served as Chairman. The project focused on integrating micro- and nano-technologies into a smart system attached to a mobile phone for disease marker analysis from exhaled breath, enabling early disease detection.

Hossam Haick has a diverse education history in the field of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. From 1998 to 2002, they attended Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering. Following their doctoral studies, from 2002 to 2004, Hossam pursued a postgraduate degree in Materials Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Finally, from 2004 to 2006, they attended Caltech, obtaining another postgraduate degree, this time in Chemical Engineering.
