Vivek Mutalik is a staff scientist and research scientist at Berkeley Lab, where a high-throughput genomics platform was established for the functional discovery of genes from various biological samples. As a co-founder of Felix Biotechnology, Vivek focuses on biotherapeutics related to antibiotic-resistant infections and cystic fibrosis, incorporating bacteriophage technology. Additionally, as an investigator at the Innovative Genomics Institute, expertise is applied to advancing genomic research. Previous experience includes co-founding POLYGLOT Biosciences for microbiome interventions, serving as a team leader at the BIOFAB at UC Berkeley, and conducting pioneering work in synthetic biology and computational biology at the Joint Bioenergy Institute and UCSF.
