Michael Orozco

Michael Orozco has a strong background in research and development, particularly in the field of optics and lasers. Michael currently holds the position of Senior Director of R&D at Stråda Medical Corp., where they started in March 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the VP of Optics & Lasers at FemtoMetrix, Inc. starting in 2018. Before that, they worked as the Director of R&D at Femto Blanc from August 2017 to March 2021. From July 2011 to August 2017, Michael held the position of Senior Scientist at Alcon LenSx, Inc. During their time there, they successfully developed a custom Semi-conductor Saturable Absorber Mirror (SeSAM) and led a team in the development of an ultra-stable and reliable femtosecond oscillator at a reduced cost compared to competitors. Michael was also responsible for developing and executing reliability testing protocols for femtosecond laser engines and systems.

Michael Orozco completed their education in the field of Chemistry. Michael obtained a Bachelor's degree from UC Irvine, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued higher studies and enrolled at the University of Michigan, where they earned a PhD in Chemistry. Michael was enrolled at the University of Michigan from 2003 to 2011.
