Pekka Ranta

Pekka Ranta has extensive experience in the field of technology and operations optimization in the marine industry. Pekka currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Fenix Marine Services since February 2022. Prior to this, they were the Vice President, Technical Services at Total Terminals International, LLC from June 2019 to February 2022. Pekka also held the position of Senior Manager, Container Terminal Technology and Operations optimization at Moffatt & Nichol from January 2018 to May 2019. Pekka Ranta has also served as the General Manager, Automation at DP World Australia from May 2016 to January 2018. Before that, they worked at Moffatt & Nichol as a Senior Project Manager from April 2012 to April 2016. Pekka'sprevious roles include Department Manager at Cargotec Corporation from September 2008 to April 2012 and various positions at Kalmar Industries, including Automation and Integration Manager and Project Manager (Automation), from November 2006 to August 2008. Pekka Ranta started their career at Metso Automation as the Chief Engineer from May 2000 to October 2006.

Pekka Ranta's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Machine Automation from Tampere University of Applied Sciences, which they completed from 1992 to 1997. Pekka then pursued a Master of Science degree in Automation from Tampere University of Technology from 1996 to 2005. In 2010, Pekka obtained a Specialist Qualification in Management, specializing in Leadership and Management, from JET - Johtamisen erikoisammattitutkinto. Finally, in 2016 to 2017, Pekka completed a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance at the Australian Institute of Business.
