Fermat Capital Management
Dr. Adam Schwartz is the Director of Research & Product Development. Adam has an extensive background in mathematical modeling, advanced database design, and high-performance computing techniques, as well as extensive experience in fixed-income and equity markets trading. Prior to joining Fermat Capital in 2007, Adam worked as a quant-trader and developed pricing/trading models and database/computational infrastructure for statistical arbitrage and high-frequency trading at BMO Nesbitt Burns and Commerzbank (New York). Adam previously managed, among other fixed-income securities and derivatives, a portfolio of catastrophe bond investments at Bracebridge Capital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, making him, in the late 1990s, among the earliest active managers in the catastrophe bond market. Adam received a Ph.D. in condensed-matter physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1997) and BS degree in both physics and electrical engineering from M.I.T. (1991).
