Jeff Bates

Jeff Bates is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Jeff joined Fermat Capital in 2004 as its first employee after three years with WR Hambrecht + Co. in its investment-banking group, two years with Bank of America in syndicated debt structuring, and four years with J.P. Morgan developing trading and position management systems for its mortgage-backed securities and emerging-market bond options desks. Jeff obtained an MBA from the Haas School at the University of California, Berkeley (1998) and a BS in mechanical engineering from M.I.T. (1990).
