Lead Video Engineer at FERNRIDE

Sebastien Venturi has a long and varied work experience. Sebastien began their career in 1999 as a C/C++ developer at Axis Communications. In 2000, they became a Research Assistant at CERT - ONERA, where they were in charge of developing a model of the internal architecture, identifying its critical points and using it as a reference simulator to simulate and measure performances of real applications. In 2002, they moved to Omnibus31 as a Java & XML open source developer, developing a web based carpooling management system based on J2EE, XML and Apache technologies. In 2004, they joined KIRNexus GmbH as a Software Engineer (MPEG, IPTV, vod, codecs, streaming). In 2008, they moved to EarthTec GmbH as a Software engineer (MPEG, IPTV, Vod, streaming, multimedia applications). In 2011, they joined Vodafone as a Digital TV Engineer. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Fernride as a Lead Video Engineer, where they help to enable automated and sustainable logistics by combining the human skills of in-office drivers with autonomous driving technology in a scalable platform.

Sebastien Venturi obtained an Engineer degree in Computer Science from the Institut national des Sciences appliquées de Toulouse between 1994 and 2000. Sebastien also obtained a DEA in Computer Systems from the Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 2000. Additionally, Venturi has obtained various certifications, including a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in March 2018, an Online Machine Learning course from Stanford University in September 2014, a Concurrent VOD CDN in May 2013, a Concurrent VOD System Operation and Maintenance in September 2012, and a Cisco Certified Network Associate in October 2010.
