Roberto Massi

Chief Security & Risk Officer at Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane SpA

Born in Recanati in 1963, he completed his high school studies at the Military School "Nunziatella" in Naples and then embarked on a military career by attending the 164th course of the Military Academy of Modena.

Appointed Second Lieutenant in 1984, he served in the Arma dei Carabinieri, as an Officer, until 2016, gaining various experiences both in operational / command positions (including Officer in the Anti-Crime Section of the Carabinieri of Milan, Commander of the Casoria Companies and Milano Porta Monforte, Commander of the Antiterrorism Department of ROS, Deputy Commander of the Carabinieri Department for the security of the Head of State, Commander of the Operational Department of Rome, Provincial Commander of Turin) and management / staff (including the Operations Office, Head of Studies and Projects Section, Head of Officers Personnel Office, Head of Legislation Office), and reaching the rank of Brigadier General.

Between 2009 and 2011 he held the position of General Manager of the General Affairs and Resources Office of the Ministry of Economic Development.

He has been with Anas since 2016, where he established and assumed responsibility for the Corporate Protection Department, with expertise in the fields of Security, Risk Management, Compliance, Anti-corruption and Anti-Mafia. In Anas he also holds the functions of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Head of Corruption Prevention and Transparency (RPCT).

Graduated in "Law" and in "Science of Internal and External Security", he obtained the

master in "International Strategic-Military Studies" and the second level in "Strategic Sciences", as well as successfully completed the "Advanced Joint Staff Course".

Over the years he has completed his training by attending various specialization courses, including that of "Managerial training" at ISVOR-FIAT and that of "Science and technology of legislation" at ISLE. He also obtained the diplomas in "Risk management for the control functions", "Control and Internal Auditing" and "Internal auditor on anti-corruption management systems UNI-ISO 37001: 2016", as well as the master in "Enterprise Risk Management" at LUISS Business School.

Since October 2022 he is the Chief Security & Risk Officer of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group.
