Angelia Sabaretnam, CGSS, CAMS, CRMS-TFS, currently serves as the Group Sanctions Compliance Advisory at Fertiglobe, an ADNOC company, where responsibilities include leading the Sanctions Compliance function. Previously, Angelia worked at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank as part of the Group Sanctions Advisory in the Financial Crime Group Compliance, focusing on sanctions risk assessments for high-risk clients across various industries. Angelia also held several roles at Standard Chartered Bank, including Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and Sanctions Specialist within the Financial Crime Compliance team, where extensive experience was gained in account analysis, transaction monitoring, and sanctions surveillance. Early career experience includes an internship at Approved Group International, conducting investigations into fraudulent claims. Angelia holds a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Science with a specialization in Forensic Investigation from Management and Science University.
