Rory Sanborn

MS Dean of Students at FESSENDEN SCHOOL

Rory Sanborn, a native of Maryland, came to Fessenden as an Upper School Fellow, coach, and member of the residential life staff. Rory attended Middlebury College in Vermont, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and played varsity lacrosse. After graduating from Middlebury, Rory returned to his secondary school, the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland, and became an assistant coach to the varsity lacrosse team while interning with the Calvert Asset Management Company. He later moved to England to work for the English Lacrosse Association as a local development officer in Manchester, coaching two teams to undefeated championships. More recently, Rory has served as an enrollment specialist at the Middlebury-Monterey Language Academy in Baltimore. At Fessenden, Rory is a dorm parent in Hyde II, an underclassmen dorm, and he coaches football, squash, and lacrosse. He is a recent winner of the Conway Family Award for mentoring an
