Martin Contreras has worked in the software engineering field since 2019. In that year, they began a role as an Engineering Student Researcher at UCSC Baskin School of Engineering, where they worked on Gait Pattern Detection using Machine Learning and Monitor Kinematic Activity with Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs). In 2020, they took on a role as a System Test Engineer at Zebra Technologies, where they developed automated tests and documented test inefficiencies in Python and Shell environments. Martin also held a role as a Software and Computer Vision Engineer at Icuro, where they used database APIs and deployed a custom YOLOv3 object detection network. Currently, they are a Software Developer In Test at Fetch Robotics, where they design automated tests in docker containerized environments and coordinates with a scrum team to target and close test development tasks.
