Ellen Light

Ellen Light's work experience starts with their current position as a Senior Software Engineer at Fetch, which they started in November 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Optum (formerly Rally Health) from October 2021 to November 2021. Before joining Optum, Ellen worked at Rally Health (acquired by Optum) from January 2019 to October 2021. During their time at Rally Health, they held the positions of Software Engineer II and Software Engineer. In these roles, they implemented microservices in Scala, designed architecture, mentored junior engineers, and worked on a customer-facing application. Before their job at Rally Health, Ellen worked as a Software Engineer Intern at DataChat from September 2018 to December 2018, where they worked on backend software engineering for data processing software. Ellen also worked as a research assistant at the Behavior, Information, and Technology Lab (BITLab) at Michigan State University from May 2015 to July 2015, where they designed experiments, built websites, and obtained preliminary results. Ellen has also had internships at iRobot and Optum (formerly Alere Wellbeing), and they worked as a Software Trainer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from September 2015 to August 2018. Additionally, they completed an Honors Thesis in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2018 to December 2018.

Ellen Light's education history begins in 2011 when they completed the University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program, focusing on Honors Calculus. From 2014 to 2018, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Economics. During the academic year of 2016-2017, Ellen participated in a Study Abroad Program at the University of Freiburg, focusing on Computer Science.
