Jonathan Lever has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Jonathan currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at The Fetzer Institute since February 2019. Prior to this, they held positions at YMCA of the USA, where they served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Membership & Program Officer from February 2016 to September 2018. Jonathan also worked as the Vice President, Health Strategy & Innovation from 2010 to February 2016, and as the National Director, Activate America from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, Lever has served as the Chief Executive Officer at Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida, Inc. from 2002 to 2005 and worked as an Attorney at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP from 2000 to 2002. Jonathan began their career as a Program Associate in Religion at Jessie Ball duPont Fund from 1993 to 1994, and then as an Assistant Director of Alumni Relations at the College of William and Mary from 1991 to 1993.
Jonathan Lever's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Religion/Religious Studies from William & Mary, which they obtained between 1987 and 1991. Following this, they pursued further education at Indiana University Bloomington, where they took part in the Jane Addams Fellowship program from 1994 to 1996. Lever then attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 1996 to 1997, where they earned an Ed.M. degree. Later, they enrolled at the Northeastern University School of Law from 1997 to 2000, and successfully obtained a J.D. degree.
