Adel Abu-Moustafa

Chairman & Director, Education at FHE Health

As an internationally recognized name in the field of health education, nobody could be better suited to head up FHE Health’s educational internship programs and partnerships than Dr. Abu-moustafa. He has extensive teaching experience in hospital settings, having devoted most of his lifetime to investing in innovative healthcare— starting with the medical leaders of tomorrow. Much of Adel’s work has involved training physicians, dentists and clinicians at elite universities. This has included leading numerous conferences and workshops internationally, and developing curricula for dental, nursing and pharmacist students in Saudi Arabia. Adel has also established residency programs for Middle Eastern physicians and dentists, qualifying them for American Board certification.

In his role as Chief of the Party to the Saudi-American Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, Dr. Abu-moustafa was charged with developing Saudi Arabia’s King Faisal University, with the backing of Harvard University Medical Center, Rice University, Texas A&M, Cornell Unviersity, and other elite teaching institutions in the U.S.

Adel has held numerous leadership positions in Higher Education and Health Affairs. Among them: Lecturer and Researcher at Boston College; Tenured Professor, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Academic Dean and Executive Vice-President at Salem State College (now known as Salem State University; Dean of International Affairs at Tufts University School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine; Provost Council on International Relations at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University; and Council on International Relations at King Abdulaziz University.

Dr. Abu-moustafa is also a successful entrepreneur, having played a key role in the start-up of FHE Health. He received his B.Sc. from Cairo University, MA from Harvard University, and Ph.D. in Geochemistry from Boston University.
