Jacqueline Au McPherson

Regional Director, Asia Pacific Regional Office at FHI 360

Jacqueline Au McPherson is a senior global health and development expert with more than 25 years of experience in public health leadership, research, communication, academics, and program management and implementation.

She has worked for FHI 360 since 2003, most recently as the Deputy Regional Director for the Asia Pacific Regional Office in Thailand. Prior to that position, she was the Country Director and Chief of Party for the Advancing Surveillance, Policies, Prevention, Care and Support to Fight HIV/AIDS (ASHA) project in Nepal. In these positions, she led several multimillion dollar projects, built staff capacity and expanded the FHI 360 portfolio to incorporate a broad range of public health interventions.

McPherson has lived and worked extensively in Asia and the Caucasus, working in challenging political and security environments with government agencies, academic and research institutions, international local nongovernmental organizations, bilateral and multilateral donor agencies, and civil society organizations. Her technical specialties are strategic communications and qualitative research.

Prior to joining FHI 360, she served as the Country Director in Armenia for The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communications Programs and Associate Director and Lecturer at the American University of Armenia School of Public Health.

McPherson has a Master of Public Health in international health from Johns Hopkins University and a doctoral degree in health policy and management from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
