Phil Barlow has extensive work experience in landscape architecture and preservation. Phil currently holds the position of Landscape Architecture Manager at FHI Studio since March 2022. Prior to this, Phil served as a Member of the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Board starting from June 2018. Phil also worked as an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Connecticut, where they taught various landscape architecture courses from January 2017 onwards. Phil has been a Member of the State of Connecticut Board of Landscape Architects since November 2009. Before joining FHI Studio, they were the Principal at To Design LLC for over 35 years until February 2022. Phil has also served on the board of trustees for the American Society of Landscape Architects from November 2015 to November 2021. Additionally, they were a commissioner for the East Haddam Connecticut P&Z Commission from January 2000 to 2009. Phil began their career as a Landscape Architect at Carter and Burgess and later worked at Omni Homes, Inc. as a landscape architect.
Phil Barlow attended West Virginia University from 1976 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture.
