Bill Higman began their work experience as a Reserve Group Division Manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co. in 1971, where they completed a year-long trainee program before being promoted to Division Manager. Bill managed three different Division assignments in two different stores before leaving to start their own Coast-to-Coast Hardware store in 1978. Bill owned and operated the Coast-to-Coast Hardware franchise for approximately ten years, during which time the store expanded twice and achieved top 25% status among Coast-to-Coast stores nationwide. In 1990, Bill founded Fiberglass Coatings Inc. (FGCI) and served as the Owner and President. Under their leadership, FGCI became the largest independently owned composites distributor in Florida, with over 80 employees and 165,000 square feet of warehousing. Bill expanded the company's facilities, introduced new product lines, streamlined operations, and developed relationships with suppliers and manufacturers for purchasing materials.
