Mariano Amartino

Mariano Amartino is the Global Director at Wayra, a Telefónica’s OpenFuture_ global startup accelerator. In this position, they manage the global strategy for Wayra and its investments through their global accelerator ecosystem.

Amartino launched Wayra in 2011 in Latin America and Spain with the aim of finding and nurturing the best technology ideas and talent. Wayra has a presence in 12 countries: Colombia, México, Spain (Madrid and Barcelona), Venezuela, Perú, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, UK, Germany, Ireland and the Czeck Republic.

Wayra is aimed at early stage technology start-ups and is open to entrepreneurs of all ICT backgrounds. In addition to financing, the Wayra startups will also receive integral support, mentoring, access to technology expertise at Telefónica and use of a special co-working space, the Wayra Academies and all the tools necessary to create successful business.

Mariano Amartino has a background inEntrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, Media - Public Opinion, and Political Science. Mariano attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business for their Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies postgrado, FLACSO for their media - public opinion postgrado, and Universidad de Belgrano for their licenciatura in political science.
