Currently serving as the Senior Coaching Development Manager at FIFA since January 2020, Fernandes previously held the position of Head of Coach Education & Training at Oceania Football Confederation from January 2013 to January 2020, where guidance was provided to member associations on the implementation of quality football programs. Additional roles include National Team Technical Advisor for Papua New Guinea Football Association and Head of Elite & Mentoring Program, focusing on youth talent development. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Football for Asia Pacific Football Academy in association with Chelsea Football Club and as Head Coach at IMG Academy, where Fernandes trained elite-level youth athletes. Giovani Fernandes holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from the University of Kentucky, obtained in 2001.
