Aurora James

Aurora James is a prominent figure in the fashion industry, currently serving as Vice Chair of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) since January 2023. As the Founder of the 15 Percent Pledge since June 2020, Aurora James initiated a movement encouraging major retailers to allocate 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses, resulting in commitments from 29 major corporations, including Sephora and Macy's. Additionally, Aurora James is the Creative Director and Founder of Brother Vellies, a brand dedicated to African-inspired, sustainable footwear handcrafted in village workshops since January 2013.
