Sam Chen is an active legal professional currently serving as a Staff Member at the Hugh L. Carey Dispute Resolution Society and the New York Real Property Law Journal, a Legal Intern at the St. Vincent de Paul Legal Program, Inc., and a Teaching Assistant in Civil Procedure, all from August 2024. Prior experience includes a Judicial Internship with Hon. Gerald Lebovits at the New York State Unified Court System and a Program Manager for the Longevity Garden at The Allure Group. Additionally, Sam has a background in education, teaching language and cultural training to immigrant students and corporate personnel. Academic credentials include a JD from St. John's University School of Law and a TESOL Certificate from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Fifth Avenue Committee, Inc. (FAC) is a non-profit comprehensive community development corporation and chartered NeighborWorks America member in South Brooklyn that advances economic and social justice by building vibrant, diverse communities where residents have genuine opportunities to achieve their goals, as well as the power to shape the community’s future. Founded in 1978, FAC works to transform the lives of over 5,500 low- and moderate-income New Yorkers annually so that we can all live and work with dignity and respect while making our community more equitable, sustainable, inclusive, and just. To achieve our mission, FAC develops and manages affordable housing and community facilities, creates economic opportunities and ensures access to economic stability, organizes residents and workers, offers student-centered adult education, and combats displacement caused by gentrification.
