Bashar Al-Rawi is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in infrastructure and product development. Currently, Bashar is part of the Figma infrastructure team since March 2023. Prior to Figma, Bashar contributed to Cocoon as one of the initial engineers, engaging in diverse aspects of engineering and product strategy from October 2021 to March 2023. Bashar also held a senior staff software engineer position at Quip, where responsibilities included leading a team in executing technical strategy and cross-organizational projects. Prior roles include serving as a tech lead at Google for serverless product networking, managing infrastructure at Dropbox, and developing connectivity features for Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS. Bashar holds a Master of Science in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the American University in Dubai.
