Gino Knodel

Gino Knodel is a seasoned machine learning engineer with extensive experience in various roles across multiple companies. Currently serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Figma since January 2024, Gino previously held the position of Founding Computer Vision Engineer at Methid, where Gino developed a real-time perception system for biology labs. Prior experience includes multi-faceted roles at Bluecore, ranging from Machine Learning Engineer to Staff Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on marketing automation and machine learning product development. Gino's expertise encompasses human-in-the-loop machine learning, active learning, recommender systems, reinforcement learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Additional experience includes senior roles at Hawkfish LLC and Goldman Sachs, as well as academic positions at the University of Michigan and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Gino holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan, a Master's degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and a Bachelor's degree from RWTH Aachen University.
