Dr Marko Sjoblom has a wealth of experience in the banking and finance industries. Dr Marko started their career in 1999 as a Director at CAST, a company that focuses on data mining, analyzing and parsing applications' source code in a graphical format. In 2000, they became a Director at ION, helping large incumbent banks and corporate treasuries to manage their risk. In 2005, they became Managing Director at Kyriba. In 2006, they were a Director at Reval, a Wall Street-based hedge accounting and quant risk modelling platform, which was acquired by Carlyle Group through a $280 million LBO and later on by ION Group. In 2008, they founded MYJAR and acted as the Founder and CEO for five years, becoming profitable in its second financial year and being independently valued at $171 million after five years. In 2015, they became CEO of Vive Bank, leading the initial banking licence application process for a family office generating over $1 billion revenue with 800-staff in 18-office around the world. In 2017, they became Founder of Fiinu Plc (LSE: BANK), a publicly traded fintech group, including Fiinu Bank, with a restricted deposit-taking bank licence from the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority. In 2020, they became a Carry Partner as part of Kindred Capital VC's equitable venture model.
Dr Marko Sjoblom has an extensive education history. Dr Marko attended the Olympic Training Academy, Kuortane from 1987 to 1991, where they earned their High School diploma. Following this, they attended Satakunta University of Applied Sciences - SAMK from 1993 to 1997, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. Dr Marko then attended Anglia Ruskin University from 1995 to 1997, where they earned a Cambridge Undergraduate, Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Economics. After this, they attended the University of Bath from 1997 to 1998, where they earned a Bath Postgraduate, Master of Arts with Contemporary European Political Culture in European Economics and Politics. Dr Marko also attended Universidad Carlos III de Madrid from 1997 to 1998, where they earned an Euromasters diploma in Economics and Politics, Getafe. Finally, they attended OMNES Education from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a Doctor of Business Administration in Unbundling banking services.
