Javier Santoma has a long history of working in the tech industry. Javier began their career in 2006 as an Analyst at Europraxis Consulting, where they designed and implemented business intelligence solutions and flexible and targeted marketing campaigns. In 2010, they became a Manager of World Services at American Express, and then in 2011, they were promoted to Manager Planning, Reporting and Tracking Marketing International, where they were responsible for finance planning, budgeting and reporting, KPI definition, dashboard setup, monthly risks and opportunities communication to leadership, and analysis of marketing effectiveness, product profitability and customer satisfaction impact. Additionally, they improved and redesigned the back end processes for product invoicing to be compliant with IFRS. In 2015, they joined IBM as a Business Architect and Transformation Lead for the IBM Watson Expert Services, where they guided and worked with organizations on the definition and implementation of their cognitive journey to embed Watson capabilities in their DNA, and set the strategy and supported change management from the initial use case to the overarching roadmap. Javier then became a Watson Client Value & Transformation Consultant, where they worked with companies to help them understand how to use Watson to transform their business. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Filament AI as an AI Delivery Lead.

Javier Santoma obtained their MBA from IESE Business School in 2011, and they also participated in an MBA exchange program at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in 2010. Javier also holds an MSC in Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they obtained between 2001 and 2006. Additionally, they studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria between 2004 and 2005. Javier also holds a PRINCE2 certification.
