Sheila Sawhny

Sheila Sawhny is a seasoned professional in the film and media industry, currently serving as Senior Manager for Global Media Makers at Film Independent since February 2018. Sheila oversees programming for this innovative mentoring initiative, which facilitates cultural exchanges between American and international filmmakers. Previous roles include Juror for the AFiS Project Pitching at Busan Asian Film School, Associate Producer for the Wearable Tech Summit at CES, and Filmmaker Liaison for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Sheila's extensive background in production, writing, and directing spans over two decades, including acting in over 50 films and theatrical shows. Sheila holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts & Sciences and Theatre from Queens College, complemented by further studies at UCLA Extension.
