Christopher Bugeja

Christopher Bugeja has a diverse work experience in the field of information security. Christopher currently holds the position of Assistant Vice President - Information Security at FIMBank plc since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Security Consultant at Play'n GO from August 2019 to June 2022. Christopher also served as a Senior Information Security Specialist at FIMBank plc from March 2019 to August 2019, and as an Information Security Specialist from July 2014 to March 2019. Before that, Christopher held various roles at British American Tobacco, including Regional IT Security Compliance Manager - Western Europe from January 2011 to May 2014, and IT Security & Compliance Manager - BeNeLux from July 2008 to January 2011. Christopher started their career as a Network Administrator at British American Tobacco (Malta) from November 2006 to June 2008, and earlier as a BT Support Assistant at Central Cigarette Company Limited (Malta) from January 2003 to October 2006. Christopher's earliest role was as an Internet Monitoring Officer at M.I.T.T.S (Malta Information Technology & Training Services) Ltd in 2002.

Christopher Bugeja obtained a Diploma in Information Studies from IMIS (Institute for the Management of Information Studies) between 2002 and 2004. In addition to their diploma, they have obtained several certifications over the years. In 2017, they earned the COBIT® 5 Foundation certification from APMG International. In 2018, they became a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) through ISACA. In 2020, they obtained the EU GDPR Foundation and EU GDPR Practitioner certifications from IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications). In 2021, they obtained three certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer from ISACA, and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) also from ISACA.
