M Jahirul Quayum

M Jahirul Quayum currently serves as Joint Secretary in the Macroeconomic Wing of the Finance Division at the Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh, overseeing fiscal and monitoring operations and collaborating with international development partners. With extensive experience in macroeconomic policy coordination, revenue collection, and LDC graduation challenges, M Jahirul Quayum has previously worked as Deputy Secretary in both the Macroeconomic and Export & LDC Graduation Wings. Other notable roles include Counsellor (Commerce) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Brussels, where M Jahirul Quayum facilitated dialogue between European stakeholders and Bangladeshi actors, and Additional/Joint Commissioner at the National Board of Revenue, focusing on customs modernization and revenue enhancement. M Jahirul Quayum holds multiple degrees from the London School of Economics, including an MSc in Development Management and a BSc in Economics.
