Jonathan Eley

Jonathan Eley has extensive experience in journalism, currently serving as the long form editor for the Financial Times since April 2000, overseeing the Big Read section which features in-depth articles. Eley's previous roles at the Financial Times include acting long form editor, retail correspondent, contributor to the Lex column, and personal finance editor responsible for the Money supplement and FT Money Show podcast. Prior experience includes positions as UK sub-editor at AFX News and HK correspondent at AFX Asia, where Eley reported on significant economic events including the handover of Hong Kong to China. Eley began a career in journalism at Metal Bulletin as North American editor. Educational background includes a BSc in Languages from Aston University.
