Michael Halpern

Michael Halpern has over 20 years of work experience in various communication and leadership roles. Michael is currently the Director of Global Communications at FINCA Impact Finance, where they oversee internal and external communications for a global financial provider. Prior to this, Michael worked at the Union of Concerned Scientists for 17 years, serving as Deputy Director. In this role, they launched and expanded programs to expose political interference in governmental science, organized responses from the scientific community, and wrote reports and opinion pieces. Before that, they worked at the World Wildlife Fund as an Editor and Development Associate, where they developed a comprehensive marketing plan and raised $2 million annually. In the late 1990s, Michael served as the Public Awareness Director at the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, managing organizational communications and coordinating events.
