Deputy Program Manager- Bill And Melinda Gates Program at FINCA Uganda Limited (MDI)

Disan Katabalwa currently serves as President of the Project Management Institute and Vice President of the PMI Uganda Chapter. With extensive experience in project management and business analysis, Disan has held key positions at FINCA Uganda Limited and its affiliates, including Deputy Program Manager for the Bill and Melinda Gates Program and Projects & Innovations Manager. Previous roles include Business Analyst at Pride Microfinance and Global Business Analyst at FINCA Impact Finance. Disan has also contributed as Head of Digital Strategy at UGAFODE Microfinance Limited and held several positions focused on project implementation and management within FINCA International. Academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration from Makerere University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, along with a Diploma in Business Studies from Makerere University Business School.

FINCA Uganda started its operations in Jinja District in 1992 as a microfinance institution. In 2004, FINCA Uganda was licensed as a Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) thus becoming the first MDI to be regulated by Bank of Uganda under the MDI Act of 2003. FINCA Uganda is part of the FINCA Impact Finance Network, a group of 20 microfinance and financial institutions that provides socially responsible financial services and enables low-income entrepreneurs and small business owners to invest in the future.
