Naval Architect - Lead Weight Control Engineer at Fincantieri

Gabriele Giordano has work experience in the naval architecture field. In 2017, they had an internship at Wärtsilä Italia S.p.A. From September 2019 to February 2020, they worked as a Junior Naval Architect at RINA. In July 2020, they started a trainee position at FINCANTIERI S.p.A., where they focused on weights and center of gravity control in ship design. Gabriele was later promoted to the role of Naval Architect - Lead Weight Control Engineer, responsible for multiple ship programs including an offshore patrol vessel, a future destroyer, and a mid-life upgrade of the Horizon class for the Italian Navy. Their main activities included acting as a central point of contact for weight estimation and control, advising on ship design during the conceptual phase, and reporting on weight balance and stability boundaries.

Gabriele Giordano completed a Bachelor's degree in Architettura navale e ingegneria marittima from the Università degli Studi di Genova from 2014 to 2017. Afterwards, they pursued a Master of Science degree in the same field from the same institution from 2017 to 2020. In addition to their studies in Genova, they also attended Instituto Superior Técnico from 2018 to 2019, focusing on Marine and Ocean Engineering. Prior to their university education, Gabriele attended IISS J.C. Maxwell from 2009 to 2014, where they studied perito aereonautico.
