Summer Chambers

Summer Chambers has a diverse work experience history. In 2016, they worked as a Sales Clerk at J. Fenton Gallery and then went on to work as a Sales Staff at Kilwins Chocolates Franchise, Inc. in 2017. Summer also gained experience in language translation and research at the University of Virginia, where they worked as a Linguistic Documentation Intern and Translator in 2018. Summer continued their research work as a Research Assistant at the university in 2019, focusing on coding language traits and interpreting results for language relationships. During the same year, they also worked at ETS as an Outside Item Writer and as an ELL Summer Associate. In 2020, they joined UVA Multepal as a Researcher, working on developing an automated POS-tagger for a specific language. Presently, they are employed at Finch Computing, starting as a Junior Data Scientist in 2021 and later transitioning into the role of Data Scientist before becoming the Data Science Team Lead in September 2022.

Summer Chambers has a diverse education history. In 2016, they graduated from Lafayette High School with an Advanced Diploma. Summer continued their studies at the University of Virginia, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Linguistics in 2019. Summer then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics at the same university, which they completed in 2020. Following that, they enrolled in the University of Virginia once again and received a Master of Science degree in Data Science in 2021. In terms of additional certifications, Summer obtained a Teaching English Online certificate from THE TEFL INSTITUTE OF IRELAND in January 2020, and also received a Data Science Team Lead+ (DS-TL+) Certificate from the Data Science Process Alliance in November 2022.
