Sam Knetsch

Sam Knetsch is a Dutch architect and engineer who specializes in building energy efficiency. Sam is the founder and owner of natural design Knetsch, a company that provides consulting services for architects and engineers working on energy-efficient buildings. Sam is also a BIM Modeller at Finch Buildings.

Sam studied architecture and engineering at the Delft University of Technology. After graduating, they worked as an engineer at Roeleveld-Sikkes Architects for a year before starting their own company. Sam has also worked as an engineer at Middelkoop Architecten and Architectenbureau Anna Zinkweg BV.

Sam’s research focuses on the feasibility of energy-neutral neighborhoods with houses built between 1800 and 1930. Sam has developed a tool that takes into account the existing and desired changes to a house, as well as the possible energy-saving measures that could be implemented. The tool then calculates the extra investment costs, fiscal benefits, reduction in heating and electricity costs, and payback period based on current energy prices. This information is used to create a plan for implementing energy-saving measures on a neighborhood level.

Sam is an expert in their field and is constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency of buildings. Sam is passionate about helping others save money and reduce their carbon footprint, and they are always happy to share their knowledge with others.

Sam Knetsch has a Master's degree in Architecture from Eindhoven University of Technology, a Bachelor of Architecture - BArch from Eindhoven University of Technology, a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) in building engineering and architecture from De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences, and a Bouwtechniek certification from ROC Leiden in Mbo bouwkunde.
